We've gathered the best climate resources from around the Bay and put them in one place, making it easier for people to find what they're looking for, whether they're taking their first step or want to engage more deeply - at school, at work, in their community, and with their local government. Our online libraries provide "how to" solutions that help dramatically reducing our reliance on fossil fuels, building a healthier Bay Area by now and for future generations. Together, we can turn climate concern into climate action.

Impact: By sharing best practices and what others are doing, we reduce the endless trial-and-error and duplication of efforts that slow down real action.

Bay Area SunShares

The Bay Area SunShares program makes it easy and more affordable for Bay Area residents to add rooftop solar and battery storage that will help reduce electricity costs, accelerate the transition to to clean electricity, and build regional resilience to climate disruption. We negotiate discounts with pre-vetted installersby pooling the buying power and pool their buying power, bringing the savings to you. Act Now Bay Area/SunShares works with over 60 outreach partners, including non-profits, cities, and corporations, providing shareable program information, a media toolkit, webinars, and more. Impact:  Over 1,500 Bay Area households have installed over 7.7 MegaWatts of solar and over 500 batteries.

Bay Area Clean Air Coalition

The San Francisco Bay Area has some of the worst air quality in the nation! Act Now Bay Area is a member of Bay Area Clean Air (BACA), a coalition of regional organizations, including health professionals and energy experts, working together to reduce the health impacts of our region's air pollution and lower residential energy costs. BACA supports the work of the Bay Area Air District, which passed the nation's first standards to ensure that our region's families get clean, efficient electric heat-pump technology when gas-fired water heaters and furnaces need to be replaced. It's important to remember that the Bay Area has more days of higher than normal temperatures, and half of the Bay Area's homes do not have air conditioning. Heat-pump technology - the same basic technology in your refrigerator -provides both space heating and air conditioning, a two-for-one system, and heat-pump water heaters are more efficient and cheaper to run than gas-fired water heaters.

Impact: As old gas equipment is replaced starting in 2027, these standards will cut deadly pollution from existing gas equipment that emit toxic gases like methane, carbon dioxide, and nitrous oxides, all major contributors to our poor air quality, including inside our homes.

SF Bay Area Climate Action Map

The Climate Action Mapping Project for the San Francisco Bay Area (CAMP Bay Area) is an initiative designed to facilitate inter-organization cooperation, communication, and collaboration. The listings and maps provide valuable insights and perspectives into organizations in the nine Bay Area counties to address all aspects of our climate emergency including sea level rise, impact mitigation, greenhouse gas reduction, reducing solid waste, regenerative agriculture, environmental equity and a just transition to a fossil-fuel free economy.

Impact: CAMP helps "connect the dots", an easy way to see who is doing what, which organizations are aligned with visitors' interests, and encourages broader collaboration.
